I say—” Voice from audience: “Atta-boy, senator!” And how’s for abolishing taxes?” Rostrum voice: “I say that what our nation needs is a new broom that will sweep clean! And so I place in nomination our great fellow countryman, the Honorable Constantine Alajalov!” Another voice from below: “Ah, shut up and sweep.” Well, as the forgotten state signs, flash bulbs and shoot are swept up, let us remember that in this auditorium America was engaged in making democracy work. If all nations could hold nominating conventions, how much better off this world would be!
