- The gay steeds gallop like the wind, the whirling sights and sounds are deliciously exciting, and a grand good time is being had by—but wait a minute; look at the face on papa. In an amusement park, the man is not amused? On a merry-go-round he is not merry? His mind doesn't seem to be on his recreation, or if it is, maybe he's daydreaming about a golf course which today he is not on. Artist Earl Mayan reflects that papa is a good guy, doing good deeds, most of which are around his neck, still undone. Deeds like getting his head snapped on the whip, followed by other delightful disasters, climaxed in a joyride on the awful roller coaster, with people screaming and papa scared speechless. Outside the roller coaster, mamma will be waiting, cool and crisp and not scared a bit.
