THE COVER
The Super V is a feast for the eyes, and it will be doubly so with Mrs. Jones at the wheel; so it is too bad Mr. J is thinking that they could get their 1957 Super painted yellow for, say, 150 bucks. A little thought, for subtle are the ways of womenfolk. Mrs. Jones, knowing her husband to be in the condition of both wanting and not wanting a new car, has maneuvered him under that hood, and if he tries to flee, subtle also are the ways of salesfolk. Later, when the lady, with no subtlety at all, demands and gets an extra 150 bucks on the trade-in allowance, Jones will feel better, and after he tries Super’s purring power on California’s sunny roadways, he’ll bless the wisdom of his helpmate. Artist Kurt Ard says Mrs. J may switch her lipstick shade—but not to lemon yellow.
