  • The Cover
    • The children need another room, so artist George Hughes has designated Mr. Fisher to be the displaced person. Mr. F., a lover of white-water streams and green-aisled forests, is devoted to his fishy den; but he is more devoted to the patter of little feet and the cacophony of little voices, and if just now he feels like snatching a gun from his arsenal and shooting those rabbits, such impulses will fade away. Tomorrow papa will be spared the pain of thinking about the interior redecorator clawing his beloved wallpaper; at the office he will be mercifully worrying about something else. As for Mrs. F., she has no affection for mounted fishing trophies, but she does have affection for her husband; so over the living-room mantel she’ll tenderly hang that deceased fish.
