This vintage September 1980 issue of Strength & Health Magazine features Kent Kuehn and Lynde Johnson on the cover—two accomplished competitors who exemplified the growing popularity of couples’ bodybuilding during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Kuehn, the 1977 Over-40 Mr. America, and Johnson, a previous Strength & Health cover model from January 1979, were photographed together at the Atlantic City Women’s Physique Extravaganza. Both trained at Tom Minichiello’s famed Mid-City Health Club in New York City.
