Description

Vogue Magazine December 1, 1941 Betty McLauchlen Cover by John Rawlings

From a privately held Vogue archive, 1920s–1970s. These were stored away for decades and recently brought back into circulation. We performed light, dry surface cleaning at the outer spine (vacuum/brush/smoke sponge only; no wet methods), then placed each issue in a new archival sleeve.

What to expect: honest vintage traits, binding wear or small splits, staple-rust halos, edge toning, and period shelf dust that can appear as black residue along the spine. Interiors are dry and legible. Some copies retain a light vintage paper aroma typical of mid-century magazines.

Each listing shows the exact issue you’ll receive. Any condition materially beyond the above is noted in that item’s description. These characteristics reflect long, earlier storage before we acquired the collection; all items are now housed in clean sleeves and stored upright.

This December 1941 Vogue issue, photographed by John Rawlings and featuring Betty McLauchlen on the cover, captures the elegance of wartime-era holiday fashion. Published just days before the U.S. entered World War II, it is one of Vogue’s final prewar Christmas editions—an evocative blend of festive glamour, patriotism, and high style.

The condition of the item is in good condition. The item being pictured in this listing is exactly the same item you will receive.
