Description

Vogue Magazine February 1, 1942 “Life in Wartime: Women in the Morale Corps”

From a privately held Vogue archive, 1920s–1970s. These were stored away for decades and recently brought back into circulation. We performed light, dry surface cleaning at the outer spine (vacuum/brush/smoke sponge only; no wet methods), then placed each issue in a new archival sleeve.

What to expect: honest vintage traits, binding wear or small splits, staple-rust halos, edge toning, and period shelf dust that can appear as black residue along the spine. Interiors are dry and legible. Some copies retain a light vintage paper aroma typical of mid-century magazines.

Each listing shows the exact issue you’ll receive. Any condition materially beyond the above is noted in that item’s description. These characteristics reflect long, earlier storage before we acquired the collection; all items are now housed in clean sleeves and stored upright.

This is an original Vogue magazine issue from February 1, 1942, published at the height of World War II. Featuring the theme “Life in Wartime”, this historic edition captures how American women adapted to new roles during a time of global upheaval—balancing fashion, service, and resilience. With its wartime reportage, morale-centered features, and patriotic fashion guidance, this issue stands as a fascinating artifact of the early 1940s and the American home front.

The condition of the item is in good condition. The item pictured in this listing is exactly the same item you will receive.
