Description

Vogue Magazine February 1, 1957 – Joanna McCormick Cover by Irving Penn – GD Interior

From a privately held Vogue archive, 1920s–1970s. These were stored away for decades and recently brought back into circulation. We performed light, dry surface cleaning at the outer spine (vacuum/brush/smoke sponge only; no wet methods), then placed each issue in a new archival sleeve.

What to expect: honest vintage traits, binding wear or small splits, staple-rust halos, edge toning, and period shelf dust that can appear as black residue along the spine. Interiors are dry and legible. Some copies retain a light vintage paper aroma typical of mid-century magazines.

Each listing shows the exact issue you’ll receive. Any condition materially beyond the above is noted in that item’s description. These characteristics reflect long, earlier storage before we acquired the collection; all items are now housed in clean sleeves and stored upright.

This vintage issue of Vogue Magazine, dated February 1, 1957, features Joanna McCormick on the cover, photographed by the legendary Irving Penn. Representing a pivotal period in postwar American fashion, this edition captures the confidence, refinement, and modern sensibility of mid-century style—where Vogue highlighted both the artistry of fashion and the evolving American identity.

The item is in acceptable condition with good interior. There are creases and marks on the front cover and within, and minor rips may also be present. The item shown in photos is exactly the same item you will receive.
